In the last line of an HBO press release that most media outlets seemed to have missed it was revealed that Gary Cole (Taladega Nights, Office Space) would join the Bon Temps team for the latest season of True Blood. The Presser indicates that the actor would be playing Earl Stackhouse, the grandfather of Sookie and Jason Stackhouse and husband of Adele Stackhouse. Anything can happen in the world of True Blood but we assume that this scene will be some sort of flashback, possibly giving us more intel on Ms. Stackhouse’s Faerie linage.
Gary Cole is probably most well known for his comedic role in Office Space as the coffee-sipping boss on a bit of a power trip. (“Uhh… yeah… we’re going to need you to come in on Saturday…”) We can’t wait to see what he brings to the show when it premieres on June 26th at 9PM, only on HBO.
