Here’s a brand new update to soothe the aching wait until season 4. HBO has just officially released one of the deleted scenes from season 3 of Game of Thrones via the official GoT YouTube channel. Check it out, the chemistry between Charles Dance and Julian Glover is magnificent. This scene was intended to take place just before the first Small Council meeting of season 3, in episode 3, Walk of Punishment.

This scene, as well as other deleted scenes and never-before-seen bonus features will be included in the Blu-Ray release of the third season. Game of Thrones Season 4 will premiere in spring of 2014.  We’ll provide an exact air date here when we have it.

terrific scene. Tywin is still a man’s man, he’s very physically oriented in this scene. It’s nice to have a scene where Julian Glover, who has been excellent, gets to say something real, but I also understand why they cut it – sort of undermines the subtlety of Pycell’s ridiculous charade.

I feel like Pycelle shows more backbone in this scene than he does normally. Didn’t help him against Tywin Lannister, however. Although in his defense, not much does.

Something came to mind here: in Season I, we see Tywin skinning a moose (or was it a deer carcass?). Hmm. Do we know of a House that had a stag as its’ sigil? Coincidence? Season III, in this deleted scene, Tywin is fishing…and he catches a few successfully. Which House has a fish as its’ sigil? These two scenes from both seasons cannot be ignored: Tywin was involved, one way or another of getting rid of Robert Baratheon and replacing him with the puppet, Joffrey and well, we all know about the Red Wedding.

Yep, Bryan Cogman said earlier in the year that they were both intentional subtle nods.

Is it bad to admit that I find CD, err, I mean Tywin extremely virile and sexy in this scene? Geez, I think it’s getting hot in here! ;) (PS – Pycelle: you are a scumbag. Period. End of story!)

Hi there,
Very well written article and the entire site. I’m glad you have a fishing theme. I’m a big fan of fishing, and I support everything related to fair fishing and nature conservation. I would recommend everyone to visit this site from time to time and read interesting news.
Best regards from Adam!

That’s a great scene. I never fully appreciated how tall and intimidating Charles Dance can be before. Gotta love Lord Tywin calling the maester out on his crap!

Well what do you know about that, Lord Tywin cough, gag, sputter, blech, ok i’m ok now, must have been a hairball, no I think I heard the acting HOTK actually take up for the previous Hand?!?! Naaaahhh, couldn’t be, that would mean he actually is human. I agree with Willa, just hate, hate, hate, Pycelle! I wish that he had been eaten alive by rat’s but no I have to believe the dungeon vermin have higher standards than that.

OMG. I LOVE Charles Dance. Loved this scene – too bad it wasn’t included in the episode!

I did however enjoy immensely the sight of Tywin Lannister fishing.

And that is why I hate hate hate Pycelle. He’s a two-faced no good son of a B.

It’s true, he really is a “grey, sunken, c**t”.
