THIS JUST IN: HBO has released the first three episode descriptions for the second season of Aaron Sorkin’s: The Newsroom.  Curious what’s going to be happening at ACN this year?  Keep reading:

Episode #11: “First Thing We Do, Let’s Kill All the Lawyers”

Debut: SUNDAY, JULY 14 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Will (Jeff Daniels) and the “News Night” staff are questioned by their lawyer about a story they’ve aired that’s become a network crisis. An on-air remark by Will has him pulled from 9/11 anniversary coverage. Jim (John Gallagher, Jr.) volunteers to cover for an embed reporter on the Romney campaign and Neal (Dev Patel) investigates the beginnings of Occupy Wall Street.

Episode #12: “The Genoa Tip”

Debut: SUNDAY, JULY 21 (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

A tip on a story that will ultimately cripple the network starts to become more real. Mackenzie (Emily Mortimer) and Sloan (Olivia Munn) continue to push Will on drones as Don (Thomas Sadoski) urges Will to advocate for Troy Davis. Maggie (Alison Pill) is un-friended by her roommate, but gets the assignment she’s been begging for. Neal gets arrested on Wall Street.

Episode #13: “Willie Pete”

Debut: SUNDAY, JULY 28 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Will continues his mission to civilize by telling Nina Howard (Hope Davis) the truth. A new witness to the Genoa story emerges on Twitter, and in New Hampshire, Jim’s efforts to have his questions answered continue to fall on deaf ears.

If you’re still not caught up on The Newsroom there’s no time like the present to start! The blu-ray/DVD combo pack came out last week and we’ve reviewed it so you’ll know what’s up. But for those who are all caught up what do you think about these episodes? Is the show heading into exciting territory? Or more of the same? Leave a comment below with your thoughts.

Loved this show even last season when everyone said it wasn’t up to par. Season 2 looks like its gonna be amazing. One complaint….why on earth was the music theme changed? One of the most thrilling parts of the show was listening to that incredibly beautiful opening theme (very reminiscent of West Wing) that accompanied a visual montage that made me proud to be watching this show! I missed that and did not like the new opening!
The show continues to captivate, but think about bringing the old opening theme back. It was spectacular!!!

I was so disappointed tonight when the characters of this excellent series spoke so fast that I lost a great deal of the dialogue. And that makes me less interested in keeping up with this program throughout this year! Shame on the director for this.

This is the most intelligent show on t.v. I love it and All the characters. I love that my son (44) who really thinks of nothing but sports, music and sex, I know not in what order, calls me and we post mortem the show each week and have a good laugh! There is just enough sexual tension between Will and Mac, but please
let them make out this season. Just once, a mistake?
