Mcbride_PowersAs we have discovered HBO is firming up its Fall 2013 schedule and the raucous EASTBOUND & DOWN is on that list. We just reported last month that the show was gearing up for production and now learn more of the particulars about the forthcoming continuation of the Danny McBride comedy.

The show will air an eight (8) episode season for HBO making it its fourth season about the self destructing Kenny Powers. It will air Sunday nights beginning on 09.29.13 at 10:00 pm ET. However, the bad news is, it will be the show’s final season. According to Deadline.com it was reported that HBO was wooing the show back for more than just a fourth season but the production team was ready to wrap up the series.

We have also learned that the fourth season picks up the action several years later and finds Kenny living the American Dream with his family in North Carolina. The question to ask here – is he truly happy living the domesticated life or is the yearning to get back into the action? Will he play ball again? The answer to that will be played out Sundays this fall. Join HBOWatch in watching the final season of EASTBOUND & DOWN to find out the fate of Kenny Powers.

I’m looking forward to the next season of Eastbound & Down as much as the next person but I really hope they are going to definitively end it, no matter how much money is thrown at them. The gag does not need to be strung out more than 4 seasons, it’s better for everyone, especially the show’s legacy, this way.

Agree 100%. I’ve been a fan of the show since day one and I’ll be sure to cherish the final season, but every good thing must eventually come to an end.
