David Simon is either eager to get back to work or HBO is just delighted to still have him or maybe a combination of both because the cast of SHOW ME A HERO is moving fast. Jim Belushi (pictured), Terry Kinney (HBO’s OZ) and Michael Stahl-David (Cloverfield) have recently joined Oscar Isaac and Catherine Keener in the miniseries now getting underway.
If you didn’t catch that previous post linked above the six-hour piece gives us Isaac as “the youngest big-city mayor in the nation who finds himself thrust into the center of a racial controversy when a federal court orders him to build a small number of low-income housing units in the white neighborhoods of his town.” Keener plays an affected homeowner.
According to Deadline the just added cast includes Belushi as a former mayor who lost his position due to this very issue; Kinney as the Housing Authority director entangled in the unfavorable decision and Stahl-David plays Nick Wasicsko’s (Isaacs’ character) political advisor trying to salvage his client’s career in the process.
You can be sure HBOWatch will keep close tabs on this one as we like David Simon on HBO where he belongs.
