LOOKING: “Racy” Movie News

Fans of LOOKING have been waiting for that concluding movie that will wrap up the loose plot lines of the series after its two season run. Just what happens to Patrick, Dom, Agustin, Doris and the rest is unclear at this time as well as exactly when the concluding story will air. A while back though, Jonathan Groff (who plays Patrick) did report some news about the project. Apparently, there will be a lot of sex going on. In an interview late last year Groff had this to say about the LOOKING movie: ”There’s a lot of sex. I don’t want to say who it was with, but I just shot the most intense sex scene I’ve ever done....

HBO Cancels Looking, Plans Final Special Instead of Season 3

HBO Cancels Looking, Plans Final Special Instead of Season 3

Sad news for fans of HBO’s “Looking” which followed the lives of three gay men in San Francisco as they made their way through the modern world.  HBO has elected not to renew the show for what would be a third season. While HBO doesn’t normally make these decisions based on ratings, it probably played a role in Looking’s cancellation.  Only 240,000 viewers watched Looking this season, on average.  That’s below almost every series currently running on HBO’s air right now. “After two years of following Patrick and his tight-knit group of friends as they explored San Francisco in search of love...

Looking Season Finale: “Looking for Home”

Looking Season Finale: “Looking for Home”

I must have gone through an entire box of tissues with how much of an emotional wreck the season two finale of Looking left me in. Throughout its run, Looking has been a highly realistic and serious series, yet always with a comedic dash of sarcasm and hilarity. “Looking for Home,” however, was Looking at its most solemn and intense, and in a very powerful way. The episode covered a lot of relevant topics in both gay and straight culture, such as monogamy, the importance of friendship, and making difficult decisions for the sake of one’s own mental and emotional stability. Ultimately, the boys in Looking have been searching for love...

Looking: “Looking for Sanctuary”

Looking: “Looking for Sanctuary”

The guys of Looking have all been searching for a happy home. Happiness can be so fleeting. What one person sees as happiness, another person has a totally different notion. Especially when you’re in a relationship, you want to be happy with your partner and you have a wide range of emotions running the gamut: are you rushing into a relationship too fast? Will your friends like your new boyfriend/girlfriend? Are you in a relationship for the right reasons? Will your parents and siblings accept your partner? What if you’re “just friends?” When you’re trying build a house with someone you love, is your house a “home”...

Looking: “Looking for Glory”

Looking: “Looking for Glory”

It’s official: Patrick and Kevin are now “a thing.” Sorry, #TeamRichie fanatics, but you’re going to have to sit this one out. Two weeks have passed since Kevin showed up at Pat’s doorstep, making his declaration of love for him after having left his boyfriend, and that’s been enough time to evoke snarky remarks from Agustin about how much time Kevin is spending at their apartment. Pat and Kevin are even having conversations about making their relationship public at work, which is obviously something Pat wants more than Kevin. Pat’s even decided to sport Kevin’s gray Boston Terrier sweater to work, because “the whole point...

Looking: “Looking for a Plot”

Looking: “Looking for a Plot”

“That’s not my coffee. I never got my coffee.” I’ve said it once and I’ll probably say it every single review but one of the things I love the most about this show is how realistic it is. People deal with death differently and the majority of the time, it’s not in the most conventional way. Doris’ reaction to her father’s death, the cold tone and distracted comment about her breakfast drink, was so heartbreaking and beyond real. I also love the fact that Patrick, who is normally so wrapped up in his own stuff (which he even playfully mentioned in the car) showed up to support her, even if all he can do is offer neck...

Looking: “Looking for Gordon Freeman”

Looking: “Looking for Gordon Freeman”

Happy Halloween from Looking this past Sunday! This particular episode took us on a witty and colorful trip through Patrick and Agustin’s Halloween party, and also functioned as a character study on Patrick and the wholly distraught nature of his emotional sanity. The series has followed him roaming through life with his mind constantly on one of two boys—Richie and Kevin—and the tension between these two tightened highly in “Looking for Gordon Freeman.” The episode stars off with the trio contemplating costumes in a Halloween store, where Agustin decides to go with a fairy costume, complete with wings and glitter. They’re all...
