Sophomore Seasons of DIVORCE and CRASHING Begin on HBO In January

We are always eager for what is next and HBO has now stated just what is next includes the sophomore seasons of two returning comedies. Both DIVORCE and CRASHING are returning on SUNDAY, JANUARY 14. Here is a short but concise press release with the particulars: DIVORCE, starring Sarah Jessica Parker, kicks off its eight-episode season SUNDAY, JANUARY 14 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT). Season two finds Frances (Parker) and her ex-husband, Robert (Thomas Haden Church), dealing with the aftermath of their explosive separation and learning...

HBO’s is already eyeing what is coming in the new year. That includes another round with Sarah Jessica Parker and Thomas Haden Church as Frances and Robert DuFrene in DIVORCE. The show will make itself back around in January 2018. Joining the leads again are Molly Shannon as Diane, Frances’ high-strung friend, who has a successful husband, a beautiful house and no children; Talia Balsam as Dallas, Frances’ close friend, who has been both widowed and divorced; Tracy Letts as Nick, Diane’s husband; Sterling Jerins as Lila, Frances’ and Robert’s daughter; and Charlie Kilgore as Tom, their son. Season Two finds Frances and her now...

New Characters Coming For DIVORCE Season Two

New Characters Coming For DIVORCE Season Two

Well, by the end of Season One of DIVORCE we certainly have one doozy dose of marital dissolve, don’t we? Of course, it is going to get a lot messier when two new characters enter the equation. Actors Steven Pasquale (American Crime Story and Kurt of SIX FEET UNDER, pictured right) and Becki Newton  (Ugly Betty and Weird Loners, pictured left) join the cast in recurring roles. If you recall the end of Season One Robert (Haden Church) stops by the opening of Frances’ (Parker) art gallery and congratulates her on her success. They kiss, both unsure of what it means. That night, Robert calls, and Frances asks if she can take the kids...

Divorce Season One Finale: “Detente”

Divorce Season One Finale: “Detente”

Last week on Divorce, Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) got a more cutthroat lawyer who wasted no time busting Robert’s (Thomas Haden Church) balls. Nick (Tracy Letts) and Diane (Molly Shannon) threw another party that went about as well at their first one. Sans gunfire this time at least. This week is the season finale and it starts with Robert continuing trying to get Funspace USA off the ground. Nick is finally behind him and trying to help Robert get the ball moving. But with Frances’ new killer attorney taking the ropes, any assets  Robert had access to are now kaput. In Robert’s busyness with the business and Frances...

Divorce: “Another Party”

Divorce: “Another Party”

Last week on Divorce, Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) saw a job opportunity come and go when she couldn’t keep her divorce under control. Robert (Thomas Haden Church) was behaving erratically and being beyond affectionate with his kids. Of course, we find out he’s been taking his lawyer’s advice and juicing with testosterone. Probably not super healthy, but whatever he’s got to do to survive, right?  Which means going to church too, I guess. This week, Frances and Robert go head to head with their lawyers regarding taking care of the kids. What seems so appealing in Robert and his attention to the children is really...

Divorce: “Church”

Divorce: “Church”

Last week on Divorce, Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Robert (Thomas Haden Church) continued with divorce proceedings, represented by Jeffrey DeMunn and Dean Winters. Frances learned that the couple is essentially broke as Robert has continuously sunk money into real estate properties to flip but has only flopped. Robert was determined to bounce back, not only financially but from Frances’ infidelity. He has a sexual experience of his own, though not entirely satisfying. This week Frances begins as a prospect for job hunting executives for a position with Sotheby’s. With quick thinking, she asks for her own name to be...

Divorce: “Weekend Plans”

Divorce: “Weekend Plans”

Last week on Divorce, Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Robert (Thomas Haden Church) took the kids and made the trek to Frances’ parents’ house for Christmas. While Frances took her sweet time breaking the D-word news, Robert was quick to step in and take the blame for her. It was a brief moment of nicety in the ever moving storm of divorce proceedings. This week, Frances and Robert meet with their lawyers. Max Brodkin (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Tony Silvercreek (Dean Winters) are absolutely fantastic. Brodkin represents Frances and Silvercreek for Robert. While Brodkin seems to be out of wits and off his game following a...

Divorce: “Christmas”

Divorce: “Christmas”

Last week on Divorce, Frances (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Robert (Thomas Haden Church) get their own lawyers, though Robert’s first attempt at representation doesn’t go well. Frances has finally gotten a gallery space but has no artists to fill it. And Robert was still attempting to garner funding for his newest project, regardless of the fact that he’s about to go through divorce proceedings and is already hemorrhaging money. Nice. This week we join the family for the happiest of festivities: Christmas! Deck the halls, and down me now some whiskey because boy, oh boy, holidays are rough. Frances attempts to split time for...
