1x09-baelor-game-of--300x168WARNING: Spoilers Ahead! By now the word has spread far and wide across the land that Eddard Stark, beloved father and Hand of the late King Robert Baratheon is dead by the hand of ‘King’ Joffery.   Fans who hadn’t read the novels were shocked, appalled and some were even angry at not only the Lannisters but HBO, George RR. Martin and the producers of Game of Thrones.

UPDATE: This article obviously didn’t turn out to be factual.  Since it’s posting we now go to great lengths to verify information before posting.  Our apologies for the misunderstanding and this particularly cruel piece of news.

So perhaps we’ll all find some solace in the fact that Sean Bean (Eddard Stark) will appear in the final episode of the inaugural season of A Song of Ice and Fire, of which Game of Thrones is but the first installment.  According to TVline we haven’t seen the last of Ned on the silver screen:

Natalie Abrams of TVline:Two of his children will see him in a way you’d probably expect of television; a third, though, will have a shocking run-in with dear old Dad.”

We presume they’ll be speaking to their father via flashback, dream or hallucination. The season finale airs June 19th at 9PM on HBO and is entitled ‘Fire and Blood’.  Here is the episode’s description:

As tragic news spreads across the Seven Kingdoms, Bran and Rickon share a prophetic dream, Catelyn interrogates Jaime about her son’s fall, and Robb’s destiny is forever changed. After a surprising decision by his father, Tyrion heads south. Arya assumes a new identity in an attempt to escape King’s Landing, and Sansa is terrorized by Joffrey. At the Wall, Jon is forced to choose between the Night’s Watch and the family he left behind. Across the sea, Dany pays a terrible price for her love, but finds new hope.

Ugh horrible article, I regret posting it. Went off a news story from a reputable source. Should have just listened to WicNet! Won’t happen again!
