New Characters Coming For DIVORCE Season Two

New Characters Coming For DIVORCE Season Two

Well, by the end of Season One of DIVORCE we certainly have one doozy dose of marital dissolve, don’t we? Of course, it is going to get a lot messier when two new characters enter the equation. Actors Steven Pasquale (American Crime Story and Kurt of SIX FEET UNDER, pictured right) and Becki Newton  (Ugly Betty and Weird Loners, pictured left) join the cast in recurring roles. If you recall the end of Season One Robert (Haden Church) stops by the opening of Frances’ (Parker) art gallery and congratulates her on her success. They kiss, both unsure of what it means. That night, Robert calls, and Frances asks if she can take the kids...

FAHRENHEIT 451 Casting Up For HBO

FAHRENHEIT 451 Casting Up For HBO

Back in July of last year, via a Development Slate post, we mentioned that Ray Bradbury’s classic novel “Fahrenheit 451” was being developed as an HBO Films presentation. That project is apparently still a go as two lead actors have been signed on for the adaptation. The concept was already made to film with the classic 1996 version written and directed by François Truffaut. It is a cautionary tale about censorship and the title refers to the temperature at which book paper ignites. HBO’s version has now cast Michael B. Jordan (at right) and Michael Shannon(at left) in its take. Based on Ray Bradbury’s classic novel, the TV film...

George R. R. Martin Working Towards More From the GAME OF THRONES Universe

George R. R. Martin Working Towards More From the GAME OF THRONES Universe

There have been rumblings for quite a while that something more from the GAME OF THRONES universe was in the works. HBO, of course, doesn’t want its big cash cow to die, but the end game for the main series is in sight. But now, concept creator and writer George R. R. Martin has confirmed that new ventures into the milieu are in development. That is amazing news, but what makes it more amazing is that it is not just one series but a total of four! Is it too good to be true?   It is still way too early to say where these concepts will fit into the GOT timeline. Or even if they will all successfully materialize. Mr. Martin has been in a...

Peter Dinklage Lands HBO Movie MY DINNER WITH HERVE

Peter Dinklage Lands HBO Movie MY DINNER WITH HERVE

If you didn’t know we were in May you’d swear this was an April Fool’s Day joke. But, it is not. GAME OF THRONES actor Peter Dinklage will play 1970’s actor Hervé Villechaize (pictured) in an HBO Films presentation. He is joined by Jamie Dornan, of Fifty Shades of Grey and The Fall recognition, in the greenlit work. The work is crafted by Sacha Gervasi (writer of Tom Hanks’ The Terminal) who will write and direct this project. Gervasi was said to be the last person, a journalist at the time, to interview Hervé Villechaize. Hervé committed suicide in 1995 at age 50. Mr. Villechaize was known for such remembered roles as...

Political Satire WAG THE DOG Comes To HBO

Political Satire WAG THE DOG Comes To HBO

As of late everyone wants to pass commentary on the political state of affairs in the USA. HBO has does it share on more than one occasion (RECOUNT, GAME CHANGE, THE BRINK) but it seems the likes of Bill Maher, John Oliver and VEEP are not quite enough. So now, in the works comes WAG THE DOG.   It might sound familiar because it was a 1997 movie starring Robert De Niro under the direction of Barry Levinson. It is now being considered as a half-hour comedy and will still be under the watchful eye of Levinson, as director/executive producer alongside producer Tom Fontana. HBO states that the series is “an ode to the classic film, but...
